Mahogany finish 1940s x-form Sheraton dining chair

  THIS ITEM: a side chair, accent chair, dining chair based on Sheraton or Chippendale designs of the late 18th century, with an unusual x-form design backsplat set, better than average construction, large seatframe, medallions across the back, classic square legs and spade feet, nice patina on the original dark mahogany finish, made in the late 1940s. 

I got this chair from its original owner here in Philadelphia, from an estate sale where I purchased the whole dining suite.  They had very nice, well-made all better than average quality stuff.  I sold everything separately, and the guy who bought the chairs left this one behind.  I've waiting nearly two years for him to come back for it.  So it's up for grabs again!   I also still have the pedestal dining table, which I will be posting separately next week.

ABOUT CONDITION OF USED FURNITURE:  This piece displays old/original finish on all surfaces, and is being sold as-found.  As with most vintage furniture of this type, it does have your typical minor blemishes that come with age and usage.  The wood is generally well-cared for, excellent condition, but not perfect.  Please keep in mind that this is USED furniture, it is old, and this should be expected. In most cases such blemishes are considered a good and proper part of owning vintage or antique furniture, and are NOT considered a defect.  It is part of the item's patina and history. There are no major defects to the wood that would effect its structural stability. The overall wear is typical for the piece and does not detract from its useful qualities, either functional or visual.  It is structurally intact/complete, sturdy and ready for use, except as specifically noted below.  Needs no other repair or preparation prior to use and display.
