This is NOT a reproduction - it is an antique print over 125 years old.
A splendid array of species, beautifully rendered. The bottom of the plate is dominated by the Cooper's Red-tailed Hawk and Harris' Hawk in the center, and clockwise from there are shown the Chicken Hawk, Gray Hawk (Mexican Hawk), California Squirrel Hawk (Ferrugineous Buzzard), Band-tailed Buzzard, Gruber's Buzzard, and Black Warrior (Harlan's Buzzard or Hawk). The upper panel shows the Mississippi Kite at top center, and from there, clockwise, the Black Kite (Everglade Kite or Hook-bill Kite, the Northern Mottled Owl (Kennicott's owl), the Western Mottled Owl (McCall's Owl), the Saw-whet Owl (Kirtland's Owl, Acadian Owl), the Isabelle Sparrow Hawk, the Femoral Falcon (Aplomado Falcon), and the American Merlin (Richardson's Falcon).
CONDITION: Very Good Plus . Minor edgewear and yellowing to margins, residue of tissue guard along disbound edge. The image area is Near Fine or better - will frame up beautifully.
