Movie description
A young and beautiful Ida Lupino stars with Metropolitan Opera tenor Nino Martini in this musical comedy about Pablo (Leo Carrillo), a Mexican bandit who embarks on a maddened rampage inspired by American gangster films. Soon his banditos have been organized along the strictest Chicago standards. As a first step in their crime wave, they kidnap the young opera singer for his voice, and then force him to capture a young millionaire.

Movie Plot
Pablo Braganza is a Mexican bandit who is inspired by an American gangster film to reorganize his outlaw gang to Chicago standards and practices. Also a music lover, Pablo kidnaps young opera singer Chivo because he likes his voice. Pablo then forces Chivo to capture the son of an American millionaire and his fiancée. When the rich boy escapes solo, the gay desperado serenades the fiery girlfriend amid every sort of chaos.

Young and spunky Ida Lupino and Metropolitan Opera tenor Nino Martini star in this hilariously eccentric musical comedy by the great Rouben Mamoulian (Queen Christina, Love Me Tonight). Lupino rises to the lunacy and shines in one of her best early roles. Mexican bandits Leo Carrillo and Mischa Auer lend a hand in this madcap mix of gags, Hollywood in-jokes and outrageous plot twists. This is a joyride of a movie!
