Synopsis
This study, by a conservative economist, of the outsourcing issue takes a position that much of the problem was actually caused by what the author sees as sins of the left: a failing education system which makes companies seek a competent and reliable workforce elsewhere; a tax system that requires businesses to fund social programs; pro-union laws which have restricted foreigners educated in US colleges from remaining here; and a legal system that he sees as full of frivolous lawsuits and high awards. Economist Todd Buchholz's remedy is to legislate changes in all of the above so as to "protect the free market."
