Ernest Race Hazel Conway First Edition, Design Council London, 1982 Second Printing, Wing, 2006 Soft Cover Measures approximately 21 cm x 20 cm. 80 pages A mint copy of this reprint of the incredibly scarce monograph on the British mid-Century modernist designer, probably best known for the furniture he created for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The book is profusely illustrated with black and white archive photographs of his work and the text provides a useful historical context as well as comparing his designs with those of key contemporaries such as Charles and Ray Eames, Eileen Gray, Robin and Lucienne Day, Isokon etc. The stunning originality and elegance of his designs has insured a continuing audience for his work and original pieces are increasingly highly prized by collectors. This rare and unique monograph makes an excellent reference for collectors and dealers alike. The text is in English and the condition is mint and unread. Shipping N. & S.
