 “Hold My Hand”, by Jack Lawrence and Richard Myers. Four pages front to back with a 1950 copyright. Published by Fred Raphael Music Inc, New York. 9 in. X 12 in. (approximately). Front pictures actress Reynolds on a bed while Powell Walks behind her and reads, “Dick Powell & Debbie Reynolds [in] ‘Susan Slept Here’, “Color by Technicolor”, and a list of additional cast members at the bottom. The sung is sung in the film around the campfire in the usual singing cowboy tradition that was so popular back then by Eddie Dean who later became a movie cowboy star in his own right. But Paramount just happened to have THE number one recording artist of the century under contract at the time. They persuaded Bing Crosby to record it for Decca and it enjoyed a modest sale, not one of Bing's bigger hits. The song was written in 1950 but only published in 1953. The hit version in 1953 was a recording by Don Cornell. The song was featured in the film, Susan Slept Here, and was nominated for the 1954 Academy Award for Best Song. Sheet music is in very good to fine condition. Postage & insurance will be paid by purchaser.
