$2 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE of 1976

FIRST DAY OF ISSUE POSTAL CANCELLATION

We have here a crisp U.S. Federal Reserve $2.00 Note of 1976.    A bonus for any small note collection, especially if you are trying to get one of each of the many Federal Reserve notes.  This note is nice with no writing, ink, holes, etc.  It has excellent color, and is very clean with sharp edges and corners.  It shows no signs of circulation.   It has a 13 cent US Postal Stamp with the American Eagle which was issued as part of the Bicenntenial Celebrations that were going on in 1976 with a cancellation of April 13, 1976!  That is Thomas Jefferson's birthday.  He wrote the Declaration of Independence.  Back in 1976 it only cost 13 Cents to mail a first class letter!  The cancellation comes from the Dublin Ohio. 

I'd rate it a solid CRISP Uncirculated, but you be the final judge in the photo above, which you can enlarge.  

The 1976 series of $2 bills had the new Bicentennial reverse showing the Signing of the Declaration of Independence.  It was issued by the New York Federal Reserve Bank.  This is a popular variation of a popular note.  I'm starting bidding at .01.  So take advantage of the low starting bid and own a quality piece of American historical currency and postage.
