Ice-Cool Indie Preview
So you all know that Avatar's coming and Clash of the Titans is on its way, but what about the latest Jarmusch?  The new Bong Joon-Ho? Or Bobcat Goldthwait's upcoming effort?  Empire have all of those in their Indie preview, looking at the most exciting upcoming films that don't conform to the usual Hollywood template.  Step this way for quirky characters, roller derbies, straight gay porn films and underpowered superheroes.

Paranormal Activity
Like The Blair Witch Project without the shaky cam and unnecessary snot; like Drag Me To Hell without the laughs, Paranormal Activity had Steven Spielberg waiting until a bright, sunny morning before watching it and audiences freaking out.  Empire got the full lowdown on a project designed to give more willies than every Chippendale ever, and the full story on the mercifully cancelled remake.

Where The Wild Things Are
This film has had Empire's Amar more excited than a child on Christmas Eve, and the results will hit the screen at long last on December 11.  But here's the word from Spike Jonze himself, his explanation of who the Wild Things are and why it took him so long to get it made - and for indie fans, why John Cassavetes was a huge influence on the film.  And Empire got word on Jonze' accompanying documentary on Wild Things creator Maurice Sendak, and the never-finished Disney version…

Nine
The most Oscar-heavy and arguably prettiest cast in cinema history has been assembled for Rob Marshall's Nine - Daniel Day-Lewis playing the Italian film director who gets to flirt, work or canoodle with the likes of Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson.  Empire talked to the cast about their take on the musical, the killer costumes and working with Rob - and we've got some gorgeous pictures of ladies in their stockings to illustrate it. It's art, see?

James Ellroy
He's the author of LA Confidential and The Black Dahlia, a man who seems in tune with the seamy underbelly of LA like no-one else. He's also an authority on Hollywood scandal, and a man who's completely unafraid to speak his mind or tell the story as he sees it whatever the big names involved.  Empire talked to James Ellroy about JFK consipiracies, shitty movies and the smallest cock in Hollywood...

A Serious Man
Cryptic enough to give Dan Brown a migraine, the Coen brothers are to press conferences what Bermuda is to triangles. They're back with A Serious Man, their most personal film yet, a metaphysical family drama set in the Midwest.   Empire travelled to Toronto's Hyatt hotel to follow a vapour trail of clues, wild goose-chases, comic pauses, and some of the silliest questions ever put on the record to bring you the Coen code.

Cameron Diaz
She's blonde, she's gorgeous and she surfs, but Cameron Diaz isn't just a California beach ditz, honest.  With Richard Kelly's The Box about to debut and her more grown-up role in it about to scare us all quite a bit,  Empire talked to the sometime Angel about her career to date, loving science fiction and singing about cocks.

Fringe
Empire went on set of Fringe in Vancouver, hanging with JJ Abrams and getting the lowdown on the show that went from "X-Files wannabe" to "the new Lost" at the end of its first season.  With its second series just getting underway, Empire have got a few clues to what you can expect as it goes forward, and whether Joshua Jackson's Peter and Anna Torv's Olivia will ever get together…

Star Trek & Terminator Salvation
Features on A Serious Man and Nowhere Boy; all the latest In Cinemas reviews, and a packed At Home section led by the double-whammy of JJ Abrams' Star Trek and Terminator Salvation.  Which sci-fi film wins the fight?  Also Public Enemies, Moon, Fight Club and The Wizard of Oz.
