DECK THE HALLS WITH EASY PAPER PIECING! Up for auction today is a book entitled “Paper Piece a Merry Christmas” by Jodie Davis. It’s soft-cover and copyrighted 2000. Here’s the introduction found on the inside of the book: This book is a collection of paper-piecing patterns and quilt projects. With forty-six Christmas-theme quilt blocks and border patterns, plus complete instructions for ten wonderful little Christmas quilts, Paper Piece a Merry Christmas is a reference and project book in one. To begin, I start you out with a complete chapter on paper piecing that also includes instructions for finishing your quilt. All you need is the ability to sew on a straight line. Following the paper-piecing primer, forty-six block and border designs are featured. Each design is presented full size, with a photo to show you how the block looks when it is finished. The projects are featured next. Carefully illustrated, step-by-step instructions and materials lists make each quilt easy to assemble. Plus, I’ve added simple instructions to turn your blocks into adorable ornaments to decorate your holiday tree or use as package tie-ons. And finally, don’t miss “Resources” on pages 94-96. In addition to devotedly visiting local quilting stores, I am always on the lookout for new mail-order resources, especially those with Web sites.
