eMoviePoster TUESDAY Movie Paper Sale #378 No questions asked return policy on EVERY item! * Full-Time movie poster dealer since 1989; over 28 million dollars of sales! 99.97% customers satisfied in over 300,000 eBay transactions! * Best Packaging and Quickest Shipping on eBay!
This week: 3,641 color stills, mini LCs, & English FOH LCs (offered in 600 lots containing between 2 and 25 per lot)! Each starts at just 99 cents (per lot, NOT per item) with NO RESERVE on any item!
When you buy from us, you get an unequaled seal of quality found nowhere else!
Note: "emovieposter" is only on our digital image, NOT on the actual item. Also, we are changing our photography setup! Images with a solid black background are ones that were photographed on our new black metal background. We now hold the posters in place with magnets (so we do not have to attach the poster to the wall in any way), which are small and round and resemble "push pins", but we assure you they are NOT! If an image has a black background, know that the odd circles in the edges of the item are magnets that hold it in place, and are NOT a defect!
4 Original Vintage Theater-Used Color Movie Mini Lobby Cards (LCs; measures 8" x 10") from Badge 373, the 1973 Howard Koch New York City gangster true crime biography thriller (inspired by the life of real-life tough cop Eddie Egan; "Inspired by the exploits of Eddie Egan"; "A gun in his sock, a tire iron in his belt, and no badge. The story of Eddie. The best ex-cop in the business.") starring Robert Duvall, Verna Bloom, Henry Darrow, Eddie Egan, and Felipe Luciano. Note that Eddie Egan was the police officer who was the real-life inspiration for Gene Hackman's character in "The French Connection"!
Overall Condition: fine. The mini LCs are in quite nice condition! Want to know more about the condition of this item? This lot of vintage movie publicity stills is in "fine" condition! It has very minor defects, typical with photographs that are ten to eighty years old. But they are truly VERY minor, and I can't imagine a collector who would not be very happy owning this still lot. But please bear in mind that this is an ORIGINAL vintage still lot, and so it is sure to have slight imperfections. Note that our small image of the item on this auction page leads to a really HUGE image of this item, so please look at that larger image, as it will certainly greatly help you know exactly what condition this item is in! Note that this is the highest grade we give any item (we do not use "mint" or "near mint"), and many of our "fine" items would be graded "mint" or "near mint" by other sellers!
"8" x 10" mini lobby card sets" which were printed on titles where the studio also made 11" x 14" lobby card sets (and on later titles, where the studio also made 11" x 14" color still sets). These are normally exact duplicates of the 11" x 14" cards or stills, except for the size, including the type of paper stock used. Almost always, these mini lobby cards are numbered from 1 to 8, and a set contains exactly 8 cards, but in rare cases, they are unnumbered, or contain more or less than 8 cards.
A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE AMAZING COLLECTION OF 3,641 VINTAGE STILLS IN 600 LOTS WE ARE CURRENTLY AUCTIONING: Note that these stills come to us from two amazing sources: One is from the collection of a New York City publicist who worked in the movie business in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was sent large numbers of stills from movies being released at that time, including all of the very best titles. The studios sent these stills directly to him, to aid him in publicizing the movies (often they would also include a sheet or several sheets with captions for the stills, or with information about the movie). Unlike the vast majority of publicists, who would discard the stills or give them away, this particular publicist carefully stored all of the stills he was sent and is only now first offering them for sale! Not only has this collection not been "picked over", but the stills are also in remarkable condition (most look as though they were just printed, but we assure you they were not!). The second collection comes to us from a former theater owner and covers a wider range of years than the above collection, including both black and white and color stills, many going back to the 1930s and 1940s, and they are slightly in lesser condition than the above collection (but they are still overall in really excellent condition). Putting the two collections together in one offering makes one of the better collections of stills ever offered at one time, on eBay or anywhere else! This is like entering a time machine and going back 30 or more years, and entering a poster exchange, and giving them a list of titles on which you want to buy stills, and having them say, "oh yes, we have all of those"! Best of all, all of the stills are being sold with no reserve in an opening bid of just 99 cents (per lot, NOT per still!). This means you could theoretically purchase a lot of 25 stills for just a few pennies each (and while we do not think that could happen, you may well see some of these lots selling for pennies per still, and probably a fair number of them will sell for under one dollar per still, even though they are in pristine condition!). IN APRIL, WE SOLD 635 LOTS OF STILLS FROM THESE SAME TWO WONDERFUL COLLECTIONS, AND AFTER THE AUCTIONS CLOSED, WE RECEIVED LOTS OF E-MAILS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE SORRY THEY HAD NOT BID HIGHER ON ONE OR MORE OF THE LOTS. Please realize that we have now pretty much run out of the color stills from these amazing collections, and THIS IS THE LAST ONE OF THESE AUCTIONS WE WILL HAVE. THIS REALLY IS A REALLY WONDERFUL COLLECTION OF STILLS AND UNBELIEVABLY GOOD CONDITION, AND I WOULD THINK THAT STILL COLLECTORS (and dealers) WILL BE THINKING ABOUT THIS AUCTION FOR SOMETIME TO COME (and kicking themselves over some of the lots that they missed out on!).
A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE 600 VINTAGE STILL LOTS WE ARE CURRENTLY AUCTIONING: WE GUARANTEE THAT EVERY STILL IN THIS AUCTION IS ORIGINAL (just like the ones we sold in many earlier weeks of still auctions)! Why? Because these stills are mostly from two remarkable collections (as described above), and they only contain original stills, and YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT! We know you will agree these are surely original stills, but if you have the slightest doubt, you can return ANY still within one week for a no questions asked refund! I have sold many tens of thousands of stills, and I KNOW these to be genuine, and I also know this to be a remarkable collection of hand-picked stills!
A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF OUR CURRENT 600 VINTAGE STILL LOTS: We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are less than "good to very good") along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe. NOTE THAT SOMETIMES A LOT OF STILLS WILL HAVE ONE THAT IS IN LESSER CONDITION, BUT IF ALL THE REST ARE IN NICE CONDITION WE WILL STILL GIVE IT A HIGHER GRADE (but write a text note about the lesser condition still).
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SURFACE SCUFFS AND CREASES IN VINTAGE STILLS: As anyone who looks at old photos knows, twenty to eighty year old photos are almost certain to pick up faint scuffs and creases in the surface emulsion of the photo. Vintage stills are the same way. But when these creases and scuffs are light, you can't see them when you look directly at the still from straight on, but you CAN see them when you tilt the still to the light. We don't consider this a major defect, because we don't know anyone who displays their stills tilted to the light. So if a still has minor scuffs and creases that are not very visible when it is viewed straight on, we still grade it as "very good or very good to fine" (or a higher grade). The only exception to this is if there are scuffs and creases throughout the entire still. Then we grade it as "lesser" (or a lower grade), even if the scuffs and creases are not visible when looked at straight on. We DO feel most collectors can accept minor surface scuffs and creases that can hardly be seen from straight on and are relatively minor. If you disagree, you probably should think long and hard before bidding on the stills that we grade as "lesser", or "very good or very good to fine" (but you still likely will be happy with the stills we grade as "fine or better", because we won't give a still those grades if there are scuffs in the surface emulsion that are at all visible when the still is viewed head-on).
Why 99 cent opening bids with NO reserves on all our items...
We believe in letting bidders set the prices of our items, so we do not use reserves, and we have ridiculously low 99 cent opening bids (don't be fooled, as almost all items will sell for far more)! If this item is currently far below its "regular" price, then it is a good buy for now, and you should bid! Note too that we NEVER end any auctions "early" (in order to sell the item to someone who makes us an offer for that item), so please don't ask! The high bidder at the end of the auction for each item gets that item, which is the most fair way to auction posters. WE REGULARLY HEAR FROM OUR CUSTOMERS THAT THEY "WOULD HAVE BID ON AN ITEM IF THEY COULD HAVE KNOWN IT WOULD SELL SO LOW"! Of course, they forgot to bid on the item, or "thought" they could not get it. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! Bid whatever you are willing to pay, no matter how low, and you have nothing to lose but a little bit of your time, and you may get some very pleasant surprises!
U.S. shipping THIS WEEK ONLY is $5; see below. Non-U.S. Shipping: Actual cost + $2 for packaging materials.
This week only, as a special offer to our customers, all U.S. customers pay only a SINGLE $5 charge for U.S. shipping, no matter how many of our stills you purchase! So you could buy 1 or 100 stills (or any number in between) that would be shipped in a very large package and you would still only pay a total of $5 for the U.S. shipping of all of them! This is our way of saying "thank you!" to our wonderful customers!
Note that we FULLY INSURE EVERY U.S. order we send, and we send all U.S. orders that total over $400 via fully insured U.S. Registered Mail (the safest and most secure way to send expensive packages)! WE ARE NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING! We spend the shipping collected on almost all orders, and we spend far more on those that involve lots of items and high dollar items.
Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer), plus $2 for packaging materials. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order. DON'T BID ON THIS ITEM UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $5 U.S. SHIPPING (or the actual shipping cost, plus $2 for packaging materials, anywhere else)!
Payment Options: All Major Credit Cards, Personal Check, Money Orders, and PayPal; do NOT send cash!
We accept Paypal, any major credit card, check, or money order. Don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)! We are a Titanium PowerSeller with over 14 million dollars of sales in over 300,000 eBay transactions (over $2.9 million in sales in 2007!), and undeserved negative feedbacks from just 14 buyers!
We only leave feedback on those who leave feedback on us. All but a handful of our 29,000+ customers are understanding on this and are willing to leave feedback first. If you insist on feedback being left as soon as you make payment OR before you leave it on us, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ANY OF OUR ITEMS.
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, return it within one week of your receipt of it (securely wrapped & insured) for a full refund of the purchase price, no questions asked! We get less than one in 500 items returned for condition! But please realize that we can't have buyers who regularly return items simply because they "changed their mind". We want all buyers to be comfortable buying through the mail, so we take back any item, but if a few people do this too often, then we would no longer be able to offer a complete return policy, so we ask all our buyers to only make returns when they feel there is a valid reason for doing so.
We sell on eBay every Tuesday on "eMoviePoster.com". We USED to sell on eBay on Thursdays on a secondary account, but we have ceased doing so!
$5 flat rate U.S. shipping no matter how many items you get from us THIS WEEK ONLY (all U.S. orders are sent fully insured)! If you are outside the U.S., you will need to pay exact cost of shipping plus $2 for packing materials.
